Telecom
Italia is starting the VIDEONET service in order to provide users with Quality
of Service videoconferencing over IP. Campus Bio-Medico has been chosen to test
the system on a variety of configurations. A dedicated 512 Kbps connection to
the new Interbusiness network has been established and five PC's are being enabled
with videoconferencing boards and cameras. A thorough performance assessment
will be accomplished, both on a technical level and from the user's perspective.
