| Full title | Evaluation of keton bodies
in patients with type 1 diabetes. |
Summary
| The
aim of the study is to evaluate keton bodies in patients with type 1 diabetes.
Focus is further set on examining those patients with recent onset type 1 diabetes
and the significance of the new kit for measuring keton bodies in the blood of
these patients as compared to classical urine testing. |

| Notes | This
is a study which will validate a new kit for measurement of keton bodies in the
blood. This is extremely valuable as presence of one of the keton bodies (hydroxybutirate)
cannot be measured in the urine and is one of the most important keton bodies
present in the blood of type 1 diabetes patients in the course of metabolic compensation. |
