Summary
| The
study aims are to identify the genetic risk of developing type 1 diabetes among
the general population. This is done by performing HLA typing at birth in 10,000
newborns in Milan, Genova and Rome. Those individuals at high genetic risk will
be followed up for two years to look at the development of specific auto-immunity
against beta cells. |
